So, I’ve been inspired not only to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, but to document my experience. For those of you not familiar, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month, a 30 day full-speed dash where the insane attempt to write a 50,000+ word novel beginning on November 1 and finishing on November 30. You have to start with a fresh idea, something you haven’t worked on previously (though you can have an outline and a few notes). It has to be fiction, but otherwise can be any genre. And you have to write it alone. Those are basically the only rules. I almost did it last year, but was in the throws of another story.

On top of THIS, I’m frantically editing/writing draft four of my novel Almost Like Magic — the story that kept me too busy last year. At the same time. Yup, writers are kinda crazy!

Anyway, I’ll try to post something every two or three days and document my NaNo word count, general thoughts on how things are going (with both writing and editing), and any hints or tips I come across (or figure out for myself). If any of you are also participating in NaNo, let me know and we can keep each other going!

If you want to comment, you’ll have to sign up for an account (sorry, I’m trying to limit spam posts). You also have to click the title of the post to comment. ‘Cuz why make things easy??? But I hope you sign up AND comment. If you’re a NaNo, share your own thoughts and tips. If you aren’t, let me know what you else you want me to ramble about  🙂

Thanks in advance for your patience with my future rambles! Hope to see you again soon.
Jill
